Pregnancy.

During pregnancy, blood volume increases by up to 50%¹, creating an increased need for iron. In fact, the World Health Organisation estimates that 40% of pregnant women have low iron levels², which can cause tiredness, fatigue, lack of energy, and poor concentration. Because of this, iron is one of the most recommended vitamins in pregnancy, by doctors and midwives.

EARLY INTERVENTION.

Early intervention is key to maintaining healthy iron levels during pregnancy, as once levels become inadequate, diet alone can be insufficient to rebuild the required iron stores. Research shows that many women do not have sufficient iron in their diet, especially affecting the second and third trimesters.
Many women dread taking iron during pregnancy, as most oral irons are notorious for delivering gastrointestinal side effects such as nausea, constipation, and diarrhoea.
Active Iron is specially formulated to target the natural site of iron absorption in the body, to reduce the likelihood and severity of these side effects.

Active Iron Pregnancy Plus is recommended by 84% of midwives³.

Folic acid in its most bioavailable form.

Active Folic supports normal blood formation during pregnancy. Up to 67% of the population are unable to convert folic acid to its metabolically active form⁵. Active Folic provides L-Methylfolate a source of folic acid in its most active, occurring form. It delivers 3X better absorption compared to standard folic acid⁶.

Folic acid is water-soluble and is not stored in the body, so needs to be consumed every day. Folic acid is also an important nutrient during pregnancy, supporting maternal tissue growth. Active Folic contains the optimal dose of folic acid to help to reduce the risk of your baby developing neural tube defects (NTD) in pregnancy.

Using these for postpartum period because I lost a lot of blood during birth which caused me to have inadequate iron levels amongst other things. Feel a lot less fatigued and my GP said my bloods came back looking a lot better. So can only recommend. Easy to swallow and don’t taste horrible. This is a great value pack in my opinion.

I started taking these in my pregnancy, as I was feeling really fatigued and I had inadequate iron levels. All I can say is what an amazing supplement. I feel so much more energized, and I have experienced zero side effects, for example no constipation or dark stools. Will continue taking these and highly recommend for those looking for an iron supplement in pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding!

Recommended this by my midwife after telling her about the side effects from the one I had been prescribed (constipation, cramps, nausea) and it’s been a lifesaver. No side effects at all, and I have so much more energy than I did before. On the day I forgot to take it I noticed straight away that I felt a lot more jaded. So happy I heard about it!
